Dr. Ikhlayel is specialist in urban environmental resource management and environmental impact assessment; he also works on multi-disciplinary sustainability issues, and how to obtain “win-win” solutions to today’s most complex environmental issues such as resource use, waste, water, and energy. As well, how to improve technology from environmental sustainability perspectives. His core expertise includes: Environmental impact assessment; Life Cycle Assessment (LCA); social life cycle assessment; emission reduction; electronic and hazardous waste; recycling; energy; material and substance flow analysis; inventory analysis; environmental policies; integrated environmental management approaches; stakeholder engagement; scenario development and evaluation; and environmental sustainability.
Since graduating his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Dr. Ikhlayel worked as a Sustainability Consultant and Researcher and as a Project Consultant in Japan. He is currently a Researcher at Ritsumeikan University, Japan, and a Senior Consultant at Cimbria Consulting, Texas, U.S. Additionally; he has been a volunteer reviewer since May 2017 for reputable and influential peer-reviewed international journals. Such journals include the Journal of Cleaner Production; the Journal of Environmental Management; Resources, Conservation and Recycling journal; and six other journals as well a reviewer for some textbooks. Since May 2017, he has reviewed 100+ peer-received articles in addition to textbook proposals for Elsevier and Wiley; and he has received several reviewers awards.
